According to subparagraph 2 of Article 4 of the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of
Foreign Professionals, the term “foreign specialist professionals with specific expertise in
biotechnology fields” refers to persons that meet any one of the following conditions:
1. Previously or currently holding a position at a biotechnology company or in a biotechnology
field in a foreign state or in the ROC with a most recent monthly salary of at least NT$160,000.
2. Those with professional life science knowledge necessary for key products in the
biotechnology industry, such as molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, genomics, or
proteomics, or with technologies such as genetic engineering, protein engineering, cell engineering,
or tissue engineering, who, in addition to having obtained a doctoral degree or above in related
fields at a domestic or foreign university, and have either received an international
invention/innovation award or have more than four years of work experience in related fields.
3. Those who have held a professional or cross-disciplinary integrative position in the
biotechnology industry and have more than eight years of work experience in related fields.
4. Those who have been certified by the relevant central competent authorities as specialized
talent, or who possess transnational experience and knowledge/skills for which there is urgent
demand in Taiwan, and who have the potential to contribute to the nation's biotechnology industry. |
