1.These Directions are stipulated by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (hereinafter
referred to as the BSMI) for the preparation of test reports for vulcanized rubber tubes to be used as
part of the technical documents under the declaration of conformity scheme.
2.Type and series of type mentioned in the test report are defined as follows:
(1) Type: vulcanized rubber tubes with the same classification, purpose, structure and main
materials are regarded as the same type; the main type being the one with the smallest nominal
diameter.
(2) Series of type: vulcanized rubber tubes under the same type with nominal diameters other than
the main type.
3. In order to prepare the test reports for vulcanized rubber tubes under the declaration of conformity,
the applicant should provide the type classification form and samples (10 pieces for each type, and
each piece being at least 150 cm) to the BSMI for conducting the test.
4.The test of the main type should be conducted on the one with the smallest nominal diameter.
The test of series of the type should be conducted on the one with the greatest nominal diameter.
5.Where the registration scope as listed in the test reports is changed, the applicant shall apply to the
BSMI for amendment to the content of test reports. If the added scope covers vulcanized rubber
tubes of the same type with nominal diameters smaller than the main type, all test items shall be
conducted.
6.Test items for the main type and series of type are given as follows:
(1) Where CNS 9620:2011 “Tubing (Extruded Rubber Tubing)” is applicable,
a. the main type (test items): appearance, dimensions, construction and material, tension test,
hardness, tension set test, ageing test, pressure test, low temperature bending test, flame test, ozone
degradation test, hydraulic test, thermal endurance test, detergent-resistance test, high temperature
edible oil resistance test, edible oil resistance test, edible vinegar resistance test, liquid soap
resistance test and marking.
b. Series of type (key test items): appearance, dimensions and pressure test.
(2) Where CNS 9621:1994 “Liquefied Petroleum Gas Hose” is applicable,
a. the main type (test items): appearance, dimensions, construction, tensile test of rubber layer
(tensile strength and elongation), pressure test, low temperature test, ozone degradation test, ageing
test, immersion test and marking.
b. Series of type (key test items): appearance, dimensions and pressure test.
